Site Classification ESWNMAN is experienced in site classification for a development or a subdivision for foundation design. We will carried out a site classification based on ground profile of site and the criteria specified in AS 2870 – 2011. The following site classifications will be encountered within Sydney Region:
(1) Class A – “Most sand and rock sites with little or no ground movement from moisture changes", ys = nil;
(2) Class S - "Slightly reactive clay sites”, which may experience only slight ground movement from moisture changes", 0 < ys <20mm;
(3) Class M - "Moderately reactive clay or silt sites”, which may experience moderate ground movement from moisture changes", 20mm < ys <40mm;
(4) Class H1 - "Highly reactive clay sites”, which may experience high ground movement from moisture changes", 40mm < ys <60mm;
(5) Class H2 - "Highly reactive clay sites”, which may experience very high ground movement from moisture changes", 60mm < ys <75mm;
(6) Class E - "Extremely reactive clay sites”, which may experience extremely high ground movement from moisture changes", ys >75mm;
(7) Class P - "Soft or unstable foundations, such as, soft clay or silt or loose sands, landslip, mine subsidence, collapsing soils and soils subject to erosion, reactive sites subject to sbnormal moisture conditions, bearing capacity less than 100kPa for shallow foundations & 50kPa for slabs, uncotrolled fill (>0.8m in sand or >0.4m in clay"
